  • What is Imagination Station?

Imagination Station is a children’s science center in the Greater Lafayette area. It is located in downtown Lafayette and has ample free parking for all visitors. It is a wonderful place where toddlers to teens, the entire family, can explore STEM concepts through engaging hands-on exhibits and unique educational programs and activities.

  • How do I become a member at Imagination Station?

Memberships can be purchased in person during regular business hours or online at www.imagination-station.org/membership-1

Physical membership cards will be mailed out within 3 - 5 business days. The receipt given in person or printed online can be used as proof of purchase.

 

  • What is there to do inside Imagination Station?

We have two floors filled with interactive exhibits and toys, where children can learn about Science, Space, Math, Engineering, and Technology.  There is also an imaginative playroom upstairs, specifically targeted at younger children. Check out our website and social media pages to see all the cool things we have inside. There is also a small gift store to buy some souvenirs, kits, and contraptions. Members enjoy a 10% discount on every purchase.

  • Do I have to become a member to enter Imagination Station?     

No, Regular admission for a visit is $7/person. Children under 2 are admitted for free.

  • What are the benefits I receive as part of my membership?

Members enjoy free general admission to IS and to over 350 participating ASTC Passport museums and science centers. Memberships also provide discounted rates for birthday parties and free participation in all the programs we offer year-round. There are different levels of membership ranging from the most popular family membership ($150 per year) and the higher level which includes grandparents/caregivers ($150 per year.)   • What is ASTC?

ASTC stands for Association of Science and Technology Centers. Imagination Station is a part of this group of over 350 museums and science centers around the country. Membership at Imagination Station gives reciprocal FREE admission to all these centers, which is a wonderful value.

  • What is the age range for Imagination Station?

Imagination Station is geared towards all ages with some exhibits having more specific target ranges. We have many exhibits and toys that are suitable for toddlers and young children (2-12 years old), while others can be enjoyed by teens and adults alike.

  • What are your hours?

Our current hours are Wednesday- Friday 10 to 1, Saturday 10 to 3, Sunday 1 to 4. Check our website for updated hours.

  • What special programs do you offer?

We offer thematic programs throughout the year. We are planning “Science Saturdays’ at Imagination Station with special activities every Saturday. In addition, we have events every Thursday  For an updated schedule of our programs, please visit our website.

  • Can I plan an event outside of your regular business hours?

Yes. Please write to us at info@imagination-station.org or call us, and we will let you know if it's possible to plan an event, based on staff availability.

  • How do I schedule a birthday party, field trip, or rent the space?

Please send an email with your request to info@imagination-station.org or call us at (765)  420 7780 during regular working hours. We will soon also be having an online option to schedule an event.​
